University Skating Club
Nora Hollands
Nora has taught skating since 1990. Nora's figure
skating experience dates from her childhood in Unionville where she
participated in "Ice Fantasia" - an ice show that had a reputation as
being the best amateur ice show in North America. Nora also performed
with a synchronized skating team that performed at competitions and at
winter carnivals. Nora skated for ten years as a child. She stopped
skating for twelve years then returned to the skating world as an adult
skater.
Nora has a broad experience in the figure skating world.
A partial list includes: Past President and Test Chairman of the West
Toronto Skating Club; she was formerly a high-test level evaluator and
a juvenile level competitive judge. She also served a three-year term
as the Skate Canada, Central Ontario Section Regional Representative
for Metro Toronto East. In this role and as an experienced test
chairman she was asked to assist in the training of participants at the
"New Test Chairman" workshop at the Central Ontario Section "You and
Your Club" volunteer conference. She also assisted in the training of
trial evaluators.
Nora teaches freeskate, dance, synchronized skating and
Learn-to-Skate programs.
