University Skating Club
Aina Arro
Aina received her BA in dance from York University in
1993. She went on to tour worldwide for eight years as a soloist and
ensemble skater with ice shows including Holiday On Ice, Ice Capades,
Grease On Ice (by Disney On Ice), Innovations On Ice, and the TV
specials "Ice Stars Hollywood Revue" and "Sacree Soiree in Paris." She
competed in the US Open Professional Skating Championships Challenge
Cup in 1992, finishing eighth.
Aina has her Gold Free Skate test and Gold dances.
Alongside her coaching duties at USC, Aina has completed her Master's
degree in dance at York University. For her thesis, she researched Ice
Theatre of New York, focusing on artistic development and choreographic
potential in ice skating.
Aina's favourite pastime is inventing new moves, and she
enjoys
working in both skating and dance. She is thrilled to be teaching at
USC,
her favourite skating club.
